Exploring interesting places in the northeastern U.S. on weekends and holidays

Monday, December 25, 2006

Last Tuesday I went to Evergreen cemetery in New Haven and placed a wreath on the grave of Pvt. George Warner who served during the Civil War, losing both arms after being hit with "friendly" cannon shot. After the war he married, had a son, and lived to be 91 years old. Also in the cemetery are veterans of the 57th Connecticut Colored Regiment.
